Cate Blanchett (Australia) received her fifth Screen Actors Guild Awards nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role – for portraying Lilith Ritter in Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley (USA/Mexico/Canada, 2021) – when the nominations for the 28th edition of the awards show were revealed on 12 January 2022. Blanchett’s previous nods were for Bandits (2002), The Aviator (2005, which she won), Notes on a Scandal (2007) and I’m Not There (2008).

Blanchett is also a four-time nominee for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, for Elizabeth (1999), Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2008), Blue Jasmine (2014, which she won) and Carol (2016).
