The largest tall ship is Sedov, which has a gross tonnage of 3,432. Sedov was built in 1921 at the Krupp Germaniawerft shipyard in Kiel, Germany, as the cargo ship Magdalene Vinnen. In 1946 she was transferred to the Soviet Navy as a sail training vessel. Today she is operated by Murmansk State Technical University, and based in the port of Kaliningrad.
