The oldest tall ship to take part in the Sail Training International Tall Ship Races is Far Barcelona (Spain), a Class B vessel that was launched in Norway in 1874.
Originally named the Anne Dorthea, this Norwegian jakt was constructed in the Hardanger region to transport barrels of herring. Restored in Spain, she now serves as a floating classroom and has hosted 15,000 hours of training in shipbuilding and maintenance.
