Germany's most recent win was delivered by its Women's team (comprising Stefanie Blendermann, Vanessa Peuker, Melanie Hammerschmidt and Jasmin Ehm) at the 2019 Minigolf World Championships held in Zhouzhuang, Jiangsu, China, on 23–27 October 2019.
The WMF recognizes six tournaments as World Championship (WC) level events. These are: General Class, Youth, Under 21, Deaf Players, Seniors and the World Adventure Golf Masters (WAGM). As of 2022, Germany has triumphed at 22 General Class tournaments, 12 Youth tournaments, two Seniors tournaments and five WAGM tournaments.
The first World Championship was played in Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1989, held as part of the that year's edition of the World Games international multi-sport event where minigolf was a demonstration sport.
In second place is Sweden with 15 wins by its national teams and in third is Czech Republic (Czechia) on 4.
Stefanie Blendermann also jointly holds the adult female individual record for most WMF tournament wins: three (attained between 2015 and 2019), shared with compatriot Bianca Zodrow (won between 1999 and 2013); Blendermann also won a title in the Youth category in 2002 giving her four titles overall.
