Ali Bandbaz balanced above his head his brother Massoud on the blade tips of two 36.5 cm. (14.5 in) steel swords, holding the position for 30 secs at the studios of L'Émission des Records, Paris, France on 26 October 2000.
The brothers' sword balancing act originally began using two metal rods, balanced end-to-end, instead of the far more hazardous swords.
The trick was perfected by the boy's father and one of his fellow circus colleagues.
Over time, the stunt grew into the significantly more dramatic sword balancing. Only once did an accident occur during the course of the stunt, when a mouthpiece cracked halfway through the act, but no harm was done.
