Over his career, Walter Erlbruch (Germany) completed 15 "perfect rounds" (i.e., 18 holes in 18 shots) in international minigolf competitions between 1990 and 2015. His most recent "perfect round" was made at the 2015 Minigolf World Championships held in Lahti, Finland, on 19–22 August 2015.
Incredibly, Erlbruch made five of his 15 perfect rounds at a single competition: the European Championships in Luxembourg in 1990. All of his competitive 18/18 rounds have been played on Eternit courses.
Walter's brother, Harald, has also achieved 14 perfect rounds in international competition.
The female record is currently five perfect rounds, set by Bianca Zodrow (Germany) between 1995 and 2005.
Germany is way ahead of the pack in terms of countries with the most perfect rounds scored in international minigolf competition with 172 as of October 2022, followed by Sweden on 114 and Austria on 73.
