Most organs transplanted into one person
- Who
- Daniel Canal
- When
- June 1998
Daniel Canal, of Miami, Florida, USA, received his third set of four new organs in June 1998 at the age of 13. He was given a new stomach, liver, pancreas and small intestine at Jackson' Children's Hospital, Miami, for the third time in little over a month.
His first mult-ogan transplant was in early May 1998, but his body rejected it. The second on 2 June 1998 was unsuccessful when the liver failed. After the third, he remained critical. His plight renewed the debate concerning transplants, having waited five years for his first.
