The fastest solo transatlantic row, as recognised by the Ocean Rowing Society, is 46 days 4 hr by adventurer Fyodor Konyukhov (Russia), who rowed from San Sebastián, La Gomera, Canary Islands, to Port St Charles, Barbados, from 16 October to 1 December 2002. The journey was made in the 6.9-m (22.6-ft) fibreglass Uralaz, which weighed 650 kg (1,433 lb) fully loaded and featured solar panels, a gas cooker, a water still and navigation equipment.
The boat weighs 350 kg (771 lb) empty.
