Vatsyayana's Kama Sutra is believed to be the oldest love and sex manual in existence. Generally considered the standard work on love in Sanskrit literature, the book is thought to have been written between in the 4th century AD. Today the Kama Sutra is widely available and has been translated into a number of languages.
There are 35 Kama Sutra chapters in total, and only one refers to sex. The rest concern social customs, mores, love, philosophy and spirituality.
