The Football Association Charity Shield was inaugurated in 1908 and has been played annually at Wembley Stadium in London, UK, and more recently the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, since 1924.
Money raised from ticket sales is distributed to an average of 90 establishments and causes, including sports charities, hospitals, drug rehabilitation centres and inner city development programmes.
