Largest racecourse jackpot in relation to stake

On 15 June 1997 the race day Triple Trio (predicting the first, second and third horses in the second, third and fifth races on the card) jackpot at Happy Valley Racecourse, run under the auspices of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, stood at $25.9 million (£15.8 million) for a stake of $1.39 (£0.85).  No outright winner emerged to claim the jackpot, so the prize pot was evenly distributed among those that made the closest predicitions - 354 ticket holders each received $73,100 (£44,600).
