Most re-elected prime minister

Lebanese prime minister Rashid Karami (b.1921) was first elected in 1955 and then officially re-elected eight additional times between 1958 and 1976. His final term of office was in 1984, which most people hoped would end the country's civil war, but he was assassinated in 1987 by a bomb thrown at his helicopter.
