According to estimates published by Forbes, the current highest-earning MMA fighter is Conor McGregor (Ireland), who reportedly earned $43 million (£34 million) in the 12 months up to 1 May 2022.
McGregor, reportedly, earned $33 m (£26.2 m) from two fights with Dustin Poirier and another $10 m (£7.9 m) from endorsements and sponsorship deals. He sold his majority stake in Irish whiskey distiller Proper No. Twelve to Proximo Spirits for an estimated $150 m (£107.5 m) in April 2021.
In 2021, McGregor topped the list of highest-earning athletes with an estimated income of $180 m (£129.6 m). However, in the 2022 list he had dropped down to No.35.
