The attempt was held at 8 different locations along River Taff, starting at Brecon Beacon to Cardiff (capital of Wales): Brecon, Merthyr Vale, Pontypridd, Cardiff Llandaff, Cardiff Sophia Garden, Cardiff Butetown and two sites at Cardiff Bay. There were at least 50 participants at each of the locations actively cleaning for at least 31 minutes. The event plan was endorsed by a qualified environmentalist saying that the activity would benefit the river.
