The most penalties successfully kicked in an international is 9, achieved five times by four different players. The first was Keiji Hirose (Japan) for Japan against Tonga in Tokyo on 9 May 1999. This was matched twice by Andrew Mehrtens (New Zealand) for New Zealand against Australia in Auckland on 24 July 1999, and again against France in Paris on 11 November 2000. The feat was also equalled by Neil Jenkins (UK) for Wales against France in Cardiff on 28 August 1999 and Thierry Teixeira (Portugal) playing for Portugal against Georgia in Lisbon on 8 February 2000.
