Fedor Konyukhov (Russia) flew around the world alone in 268 hours 20 minutes in Morton from 12 July to 23 July 2016. He took off from Northam in Western Australia, and landed at Bonnie Rock in Western Australia.

Konyukhov's hot-air balloon Morton was built by Cameron Balloons in Bristol, UK. It was 60 metres (200 feet) tall and had a volume of 15,500 cubic metres (547377.33 cubic feet). Konyukhov broke the previous record for solo circumnavigation by balloon, set by Steve Fossett (USA) in 2002, by two days, although the Russian took a longer route.
