Jhulan Goswami (India) retired from international cricket on 24 September 2022 with 355 wickets to her name: a female record 255 in One-Day Internationals (ODI), 56 in Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) and 44 in Test matches. The right-arm medium-pacer made her ODI and Test debut in 2002, playing 204 and 12 matches respectively. Her 68-match T20I career started in 2006.

Best ODI bowling: 6 for 31 vs. New Zealand on 5 July 2011; Best T20I bowling: 5 for 11 vs. Australia on 23 March 2012; Best Test bowling: 5 for 25 vs. England on 22-23 November 2005. During the 204th and final match of her ODI career, against England at Lord’s, Goswami became the first woman to bowl 10,000 deliveries in the format, reaching the landmark with the first ball of her final over. Born on 25 November 1982, Goswami retired at the age of 39 years 303 days. Her international career lasted 20 years 261 days (second only to Mithali Raj). As of 24 September 2022, Goswami was 26 international wickets ahead of England’s Katherine Brunt (329), 42 ahead of Australia’s Elysse Perry (313), 46 ahead of South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail (309) and 50 ahead of West Indies’ Anisa Mohammed (305).
