Rod Steiger (b.1925), endured 20 hours of being in make-up each day for his role in The Illustrated Man (US 1968).
It took make-up artist Gordon Bau and his team of eight assistants some ten hours to complete the temporary tattooing of his torso and another ten for the lower body, hands and legs.
