England (539 all out and 299 for 5) and New Zealand (553 all out and 284) produced 1,044 runs in boundaries (225 fours and 24 sixes) in the Second Test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, UK, on 10–14 June 2022.

The previous record of 976 runs (238 fours and four sixes) was held by Australia and India in the Fourth Test at Sydney Cricket Ground in Australia on 2–6 January 2004. New Zealand 1st innings: 80 fours and 4 sixes; England 1st innings: 73 fours and 6 sixes; New Zealand 2nd innings: 36 fours and 2 sixes; England 2nd innings: 36 fours and 12 sixes.

The match aggregate of 1,675 runs was the eighth-highest in Test history, and the second-highest in a Test match played in England after 1,723 runs were produced by England and Australia at Headingley in Leeds on 22–24 and 26–27 July 1948.
