Brazil, Mexico and Puerto Rico dominate the trade in telenovelos with the average running for more than 100 episodes. They supply them for stations throughout Latin America, Italy and Portugal. The form originated in Mexico and Cuba in the 1950's but the Brazillian network Globo is by far the richest and largest producer in Latin America, showing novelas from 6pm onwards.
