Novak Djokovic (Serbia) contested his 36th Grand Slam singles final at the US Open on 10 September 2023. The 24-time major winner appeared in his first final in 2007, and has contested all four Grand Slam finals in a calendar year three times, in 2015, 2021 and 2023, lifting the trophy at three of the four tournaments on each occasion. Since 2007, Djokovic has appeared in 10 finals at the Australian Open (winning them all), seven at the French Open (three titles), nine at Wimbledon (seven titles) and 10 at the US Open (four titles).
Djokovic’s 36th final extended his lead over Chris Evert (aka Chris Evert Lloyd, USA), who appeared in 34 major singles finals between 1973 and 1988 – including eight consecutively in 1983–85.
Djokovic’s 36 finals came from 72 Grand Slam tournaments played between 2005 and 2023. His win-loss record in that time was 361–48, with a win percentage of 88%.
