The most rotating puzzle cubes solved on a skateboard is 500 and was achieved by George Scholey (UK) in London, UK, on 13 October 2022.
George set out to achieve this record as it combined two of his passions, skateboarding and solving cubes. He is an ambassador for Rubik's and is highly ranked in the speed cubing community.
On the day he had predicted he would manage to achieve the record-breaking value of 300 in around one hour twenty minutes. On the day, however, he reached it in just over an hour. He was feeling good so decided to carry on for another 40 minutes to reach his final total of 500. Following the attempt he said he wasn't sure what hurt more, his legs, his fingers or his brain.
George was supported through his attempt by fellow cube enthusiasts Callum Hales-Jepp, Marcus Siu and Cheunghao Tu. The support team were responsible for scrambling the cubes and handing them off to George as he travelled round a course on his skateboard.
Moving forward George will be competing at the Kewbz UK Championship and intends to attempt the Guinness World Records title for most rotating puzzle cubes solved in 24 hours.
