The smallest breed of domestic goat is the Nigerian Dwarf. According to the American Goat Society and also the American Dairy Goat Association, adult males (bucks) of this breed should be less than 60 cm at the withers, and adult females (does) less than 57 cm. More specifically, the Nigerian Dwarf Goat Association states that bucks should ideally be 48–53 cm (at most), and does should be 43–48 cm.
