The world's smallest dragonfly (odonate) species is the pond damselfly Agriocnemis naia (=nana) of Myanmar, Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia. One specimen housed in the British Museum had a wing spread of 17.6 mm (0.69 in) and a body length of 18 mm (0.71 in). The insects are typically found in vegetation near streams, reservoirs and wetlands.
