Oldest person to complete the Leme–Pontal swim (female)

The oldest female to swim the Leme-Pontal Crossing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is Clarice Shiguemi Hashizume (Brazil, b. 2 September 1969) aged 56 years 280 days on 9 June 2026, as ratified by the Leme to Pontal Swimming Association.

The Travessia do Leme ao Pontal (Leme-Pontal Crossing) is a 36-km (22.3-mi) marathon swim in the Atlantic Ocean between the districts of Leme and Pontal in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Hashizume's total swim time, between Leme and Pontal, was 12 hours 3 minutes.

This surpassed the previous record holder Selma da Cunha Fioche (Brazil, b. 16 February 1970), who was aged 56 years 19 days when she completed the swim on 7 March 2026.
