The fastest Leme-Pontal Crossing (female) is 8 hours 40 minutes 35 seconds, swam by Débora Puzzi Fernandes (Brazil) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 27–28 November 2025, as ratified by the Leme to Pontal Swimming Association.
The 36-km (22-mi) marathon swim in the Atlantic Ocean between the districts of Leme and Pontal in Rio de Janeiro started at Leme beach at 10.12 p.m. local time on 27 November and ended at Pontal beach at 6.52 a.m. on 28 November. The journey was piloted by Arthur Dutra Diana and observed by Roberto Miranda Ramos Costa of the Leme to Pontal Swimming Association.
This surpassed the previous record of 8 hours 54 minutes 19 seconds, set by Betina Martins Lorscheitter (Brazil) on 18 October 2018.
To date, the fastest man to complete the Travessia do Leme ao Pontal is Glauco Luís de Oliveira Rangel (Brazil), who recorded a time of 7 hours 13 minutes on 9 October 2018.
