Elvis - The Concert became the first live tour starring a performer who is no longer living when it started in the USA in the Spring of 1998. During the concert, a video of Elvis Presley singing and playing was projected, whilst his original musicians and backing singers from the 1970s, performed live on stage. Elvis - The Concert is the road-show follow-up to the historic Elvis in Concert '97, a similar production that broke the all-time box office gross record at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis on August 16, 1997, the twentieth anniversary of the superstar's death.

After two critically acclaimed tour outings in America in March and August of 1998, it toured Europe from January 23 to February 8, 1999, in effect marking Elvis' first-ever concert tour outside North America.

Elvis - The Concert is a production of Graceland/Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. (EPE) in association with SEG Events. Those who have attended have said that it manages to recreate the atmosphere and excitement of the concerts Elvis gave when alive.
