The composer Richard Rogers (USA) became the first person to win all four awards from 1945 - 1962;  Helen Hayes (USA) became the first actress to win all four from 1931 - 1976; Actress/singer/dancer Rita Moreno (USA), won all four awards in the shortest time between 1961 - 1977, a total of 16 years;   Sir John Gielgud (UK) collated them from 1961 -1991; Marvin Hamlisch (USA): from 1973 - 1995; Mel Brooks (USA) completed the set from 1967 - 1998 and Mike Nichols (Germany) from 1961 - 2001.
