Only performers to have won an Oscar, Emmy, Tony and Grammy award

Seven performers have won the Oscar, Emmy, Tony and Grammy awards. The composer Richard Rogers (USA) became the first person to win all four awards from 1945 - 1962;  Helen Hayes (USA) became the first actress to win all four from 1931 - 1976; Actress/singer/dancer Rita Moreno (USA), won all four awards in the shortest time between 1961 - 1977, a total of 16 years;   Sir John Gielgud (UK) collated them from 1961 -1991; Marvin Hamlisch (USA): from 1973 - 1995; Mel Brooks (USA) completed the set from 1967 - 1998 and Mike Nichols (Germany) from 1961 - 2001.
