“Seven” by Jung Kook (South Korea, b. Jeon Jung-kook) feat. Latto (USA, b. Alyssa Stephens) registered 89,748,171 streams worldwide for the week ending 20 July 2023, according to Spotify’s “Weekly Top Songs Global” chart.

On its first day of availability (14 July), the “explicit version” of “Seven” logged 15,995,378 plays to become the second most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours by a male vocalist, just shy of the 16,103,849 recorded by Harry Styles’ “As It Was” on 1 April 2022. The popularity of “Seven” stayed strong throughout the week, with at least 11.6 million streams on each of the seven days in the tracking week.

As of 20 July 2023, “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus was the only track on Spotify to have posted higher streaming figures than Jung Kook in a single week: 115,156,896 on 20-26 January 2023, 104,380,337 on 27 January – 2 February 2023 and 96,032,624 on 13 – 19 January 2023.

“Seven” dominated Spotify on 14 – 20 July 2023, comfortably racking up more streams than runner-up “LALA” (41,556,972), by Puerto Rican rapper Myke Towers, and Olivia Rodrigo’s “vampire” (33,140,934) combined in the same period.

Busan’s Jung Kook, a member of BTS, is the first K-pop solo artist to log 10 million+ streams in a single 24-hour period on Spotify (a feat he’d achieved for all 12 days of “Seven”s availability on Spotify, as of 25 July 2023) and the first K-pop soloist to reach No.1 on the platform’s “Weekly Top Songs Global” chart.
