The most frequently sung songs in English are Happy Birthday to You (based on the original Good Morning to All), by Kentucky Sunday School teachers Mildred Hill and Patty Smith Hill of New York, USA (written in 1893 and under copyright from 1935 to 2010); For He's a Jolly Good Fellow (originally the French Malbrouk), known at least as early as 1781, and Auld Lang Syne (originally the Strathspey I Fee'd a Lad at Michaelmass), some words of which were written by Robert Burns (1759-96).
