As of 19 March 2025, there had been 30,000 continuous performances of The Mousetrap in the West End of London, UK. The whodunnit was written by Dame Agatha Christie (UK, 1890–1976).
The murder-mystery play opened at the Ambassadors Theatre in London’s West End on 25 November 1952. It transferred to the nearby St Martin’s Theatre in 1974, where it has run since (apart from an enforced break during the COVID-19 pandemic).
In January 2025, producer Brian M Fenty told GWR: “As The Mousetrap approaches its record-shattering 30,000th performance, I’m reminded daily of the timeless genius behind Agatha Christie’s work and her landmark whodunnit. It’s an honour to carry forward this legacy, proof that remarkable storytelling can unite audiences across generations – and endure for decades to come.”
