Milena Canonero (Italy; 1982, 1986, 2007 and 2015) and Jenny Beavan (UK; 1987, 2002, 2016 and 2022) have won four BAFTA film awards in the Best Costume Design category. Beavan picked up her fourth award for the crime comedy Cruella (USA, 2021), starring Emma Stone and Emma Thompson, at the 75th British Academy Film Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK, on 13 March 2022.

Canonero was also nominated in 2022, for The French Dispatch (USA, 2021), and could have extended her tally of Best Costume Design BAFTA awards to five. She had previously won for (in chronological order) Chariots of Fire, The Cotton Club, Marie Antoinette and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Beavan’s three previous wins were for A Room with a View, Gosford Park and Mad Max: Fury Road.

Including her most recent Best Costume Design nods for Cruella, Beavan (b. 15 November 1950) is a nine-time BAFTA nominee and an 11-time Academy Awards nominee. She has won two Oscars to date, for A Room with a View and Mad Max: Fury Road. Beavan was made an OBE in the 2017 New Year Honours.
