Most delegates to register for a climate conference

A record 39,509 delegates registered for the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (aka COP 26), representing the 197 countries that signed the 1994 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, plus observers and journalists. The event was hosted by the UK - at the SEC Centre in Glasgow - in partnership with Italy, from 31 October to 13 November 2021, with the aim of "preventing 'dangerous' human interference with the climate system".

The registered number of delegates does not represent the actual head-count at the conference, as COVID restrictions and shifting quaratine rules impacted international arrivals to the UK.

Brazil had the largest party delegation at COP26, with 479 registrations, while several nations declined to participate.
