The greatest altitude change by a petrol powered car is 5,978.17 m (19,613ft 5in), and was achieved by Sun Zibo and team, driving a MG7 car, organised by MG brand of SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Company (all China) in Laqiongla Mountains, Tibet Autonomous Region, China, on 6th March 2023.
They started their attempt at the Aiding Lake (- 148.379 m) on 25 February 2023, and ended at the Laqiongla Mountains (5,829.788 m) on 6 March 2023.
