Heaviest runner bean

The heaviest runner bean pod (Phaseolus coccineus) weighed 196 g (6.9 oz) and was grown by Derek Hulme (UK) as assessed at the CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championships, held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, Worcestershire, UK, on 23 September 2023.

The record for the largest runner bean leaf, with dimensions of 63.8 x 67.7 cm (2 ft x 2 ft 2.7 in), was also set at the same event by veteran competitive vegetable grower and multiple record holder Peter Glazebrook (UK).

The longest runner bean pod measured 76.9 cm (2 ft 6.28 in) and was grown by Lee Herrington (UK) as confirmed at the 2022 CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championships.
