The world’s most expensive office location is London’s West End, centre of the UK’s entertainment, high-end shopping, political and cultural sectors. The city’s remarkable property boom has seen it stretch its lead, even in an accelerating commercial property boom worldwide. The fashionable and accessible areas around Bloomsbury, Knightsbridge, Pimlico and Notting Hill are the location of choice for some of the world’s most profitable companies and richest businessmen. According to a February 2014 report issued by Cushman & Wakefield (the largest private real estate company in the world), office space in London cost $271.61 per square foot, per year, far ahead of the next two contenders – Hong Kong ($183.32 per square foot, per year) and Moscow ($139.80 per square foot, per year). The first US entry on the list is Manhattan in New York, USA, in sixth place ($127.09 per square foot, per year).

Hong Kong lost its top spot to London in 2012, and London shows no signs of relinquishing its lead.
