Steel Dragon 2000 at Nagashima Spaland, Mie, Japan, is 2,479 m (8,133 ft) long. An steel track out-and-back coaster, it has a maximum height of  95 m (311 ft 8 in) and a top speed of 149 km/h (92.5 mph). It opened on 1 August 2000. Steel Dragon is a non-inversion steel track giga-coaster. It lifts riders 95 m (311 ft 8 in) before dropping them 93.5 m (306 ft 9 in) while accelerating to 149 km/h (92.5 mph). Before completing the record 2,479 m (8,133 ft) of track, riders have to negotiate additional 74 m (243 ft) and 64 m (210 ft) hills. In total riders are dropped 365 m (1,200 ft). It was designed by Steve Okamoto for D.H. Morgan Inc. of La Selva Beach, California, USA.
