British vocalists Robbie Williams (“Angels”, 1999; “She’s the One”, 2000; “Rock DJ”, 2001) and Adele (“Skyfall”, 2013; “Hello”, 2016; “Easy on Me”, 2022) have both won Best British Single at the BRIT Awards on three occasions. Adele drew level with the former Take That star when “Easy on Me” saw off competition from Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits”, “Heat Waves” by Glass Animals and 12 other songs to land the award at the 42nd BRIT Awards, staged at The O2 Arena in London, UK, on 8 February 2022.

Williams won a further three Best British Single gongs with Take That in 1993 (“Could It Be Magic”), 1994 (“Pray”) and 1996 (“Back for Good”).

Best British Single was one of three BRITs won by Adele at the 2022 edition, alongside Album of the Year (30) and Artist of the Year. With 12 awards (2008–22), she now has just one trophy less than Williams has achieved as a solo artist. He also claimed five prizes with Take That.
