The most individual gold medals won at different Olympic Games is five, achieved by speed skater Ireen Wüst (Netherlands) at consecutive Winter Olympics from Turin 2006 to Beijing 2022.
Wüst made history at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics by winning the women’s speed skating 1,500 m on 7 February – her fifth individual title at a different Games. She also claimed the 3,000 m in 2006 and 2014, and the 1,500 m in 2010 and 2018. Wüst’s overall total of 11 Olympic medals, including six golds, is a record for speed skaters.
Canoeist Birgit Fischer, equestrian Isabell Werth and fencer Aladár Gerevich all won gold medals at six Summer Olympics, but including titles in team events.
