The longest slackline walk between hot-air balloons was 88 m (288 ft), made by Quirin Herterich (Germany) between the tops of two envelopes at an altitude of 80 m (262 ft) over Rottach-Egern in Tegernsee, Germany, on 10 October 2021. The attempt was overseen by Michael Unger of Ballooning Tegernsee, who also provided one of the pilots, Andreas Götschl, while Thomas Köck from Kubicek Balloons piloted the second balloon.
Herterich crossed the 25-mm-wide (1-in) polyamide band barefoot in 6 minutes 41 seconds, becoming the first known slackliner to walk between the tips of two balloons; other balloon-to-balloon traverses have been made across much shorter lines slung between the gondolas. He then made the return trip before abseiling to the ground.
