Most followers on TikTok for a family

The "first family of TikTok" are the D'Amelios: sisters Charli (@charlidamelio) and Dixie (@dixiedamelio) and their parents, Marc (@marcdamelio) and Heidi (@heididamelio), from Norwalk, Connecticut, USA. Combined, the family's followership stood at 211 million people as of 20 January 2022, broken down as: 133.9 million (Charli), 56.8 million (Dixie), 10.6 million (Marc) and 9.7 million (Heidi).

The family came to prominence following the rapid rise in popularity of Charli D'Amelio who has been the most followed person on TikTok since 2019, a position she obtained within just 10 months of joining the short-form video platform with her posts initially focusing on lip-synching to music and short dance routines.

Along the way, Charli D'Amelio became the first person to reach 100 million followers on TikTok (on 22 November 2020) and has also been recognized as the highest-earning TikToker by Forbes with an estimated income of $17.5 m (£12.8 m) in 2021.

Her sister, Dixie, has now become a fully fledged star in her own right, with her fan count putting her in eighth place overall on the network as of 20 January 2022 (excluding TikTok's own account). She has also launched a music career, releasing her debut track, "Be Happy", on 26 June 2020, which reached No.1 spot on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.
