The largest frozen hair competition featured 288 participants, and was achieved by the Takhini Hot Springs Hair Freezing Contest (Canada), in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, as of 1 April 2020.
The competition selected 5 winners for 'Best Male', 'Best Female', 'Best Group', Most Creative' and 'People's Choice'. The winner of each category was awarded $2000 and free soaks in the Takhini hot springs facility.
To enter, participants must visit the facility when the temperature is below -20°C, dip their head into the water, style their wet hair and wait for it to freeze into shape, then ring a bell near the pool entrance.
