The oldest known tightrope-walker is 'Professor' William Ivy Baldwin (USA,1866-1953), who crossed a portion of the Eldorado Canyon, Colorado, USA on his 82nd birthday. Before a crowd of 3,000, William walked the 97.5 m (320 ft) long wire with a 38.1 m (125 ft) drop below.
