Melanie attempted this record so that as a teacher she practices what she preaches. She always asks her students to push themselves and take on new challenges that requires hard work and effort to learn and grow.

Melanie realised that she has a talent for doing fast jumping jacks and wanted to attempt this as part of her school's talent contest which was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID. However, this year the school decided to accept video entries so Melanie and her colleagues gathered at a lake lodge which is also her favourite place in Idaho for the attempt.
