The greatest distance run in 24 hours (male) is 309.399 kilometres (192.251 miles), achieved by Aleksandr Sorokin (Lithuania) on 28–29 August 2021 in Pabianice, Poland.

At the 2021 UltraPark Weekend 24 Hour race in Park Wolności, Pabianice, Poland, Sorokin shattered one of the most hallowed records in ultra-distance running: Yiannis Kouros’s mark of 303.506 kilometres, which had stood since 1997. Sorokin ran the distance of seven marathons in 24 hours, averaging an astonishing 4:39 per kilometre. He ran in carbon-plated Nike Alphafly, the same running shoes used by Eliud Kipchoge during his sub-2-hour marathon distance run in 2019.
