Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels finished the 2021 Major League Baseball (MLB) season with 100 RBIs at the Angels' series finale against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park in Washington, USA, on 3 October 2021. Upon this achievement, Ohtani became the first MLB player to pitch 100 innings and achieve 100 strikeouts, RBIs, hits and runs in a single season. Ohtani is also the first player to start the MLB All-Star Game as a pitcher and a designated hitter.
