On 8 November 2024, Beyoncé (b. Beyoncé Knowles, USA) landed a ninth nomination in the prestigious Record of the Year category at the Grammy Awards. “Texas Hold ‘Em”, the lead single from Cowboy Carter (nominated for Album of the Year and Best Country Album), was one of 11 nods received by the singer ahead of the 67th edition of the Grammys on 2 February 2025 – the most by a female artist in a single year. It followed previous Record of the Year recognition for “Say My Name” (as a member of Destiny’s Child, 2001), “Crazy in Love” (Beyoncé feat. Jay-Z, 2004), “Irreplaceable” (2008), “Halo” (2010), “Formation” (2017), “Black Parade” (2021), “Savage” (Megan thee Stallion feat. Beyoncé, 2021) and “Break My Soul” (2023).

With seven (1959–81) and five (1965–2025) nominations respectively, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles have the most Record of the Year inclusions for a male artist and a group.

In 2021, Beyoncé was the first female – and the second act overall after Pharrell Williams in 2014 – to be nominated twice in the same year. Despite being the category’s most nominated artist, Beyoncé has never won a golden gramophone award for Record of the Year.
