The first suborbital launch vehicle to carry paying customers is Blue Origin’s New Shepard vehicle, which made its first crewed launch on July 20, 2021. The New Shepard flight NS-16 carried Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos, his brother Mark, veteran aviator Wally Funk, and paying customer Oliver Daemen to space past the Kármán Line, the internationally recognized boundary of space, at an altitude of 100 km or 62 miles.
