Highest beam energy cyclotron

The highest energy beam cyclotron measures 82,400MeV and was achieved by SRC (Superconducting Ring Cyclotron) at RIKEN (Japan) in Wako, Saitama, Japan, on 28 March 2022.
Cyclotrons are a type of particle accelerator which continuously accelerates charged particles along a spiral path between large magnetic poles by applying a high-frequency electric field of a certain frequency. SRC’s design and construction work started in 1995, and its first beam was extracted at end of 2006. The beams from the SRC are used for generating unstable nuclei of all elements and studying their properties.
