Longest English poem ever published

The longest poem in English is one on the life of King Alfred by John Fitchett (1766-1838) of Liverpool, Merseyside, which ran to 129,807 lines and took 40 years to write. His editor, Robert Riscoe, added the concluding 2,585 lines. Milton's Paradise Lost (10,565 lines) was completed in three years on 26 March 1606.
